Carbon Fiber Why its better!

At iCandy USA we strive to give you the best options and why we us Carbon Fiber on all our boards.

When it comes to carbon fiber vs fiberglass, can you tell the difference? Contrary to popular belief, the two are not one in the same. You’ll find that carbon fiber and fiberglass each have unique characteristics but carbon fiber has unrivaled performance.

If Carbon Fiber is good enough for Lamborghini it’s good enough for us

If they can use carbon fiber on a Lamborghine why wouldn’t we use it on our iCandy e-Glide boards.  We always strive to be the best and give our riders an advantage when e-gliding above the water.

Carbon Fiber vs Fiberglass

Here are some key differences between both products;

♦  Weight: Carbon fiber is significantly lighter than fiberglass, making it a good choice for applications where weight is a major concern.

♦  Appearance: Carbon fiber has a distinctive, woven appearance that is desirable in high-performance products.  Carbon Fiber is non-corrosive keeping your board clean and new.

♦  Performance: Carbon Fiber doesn’t expand like other substrates giving you a consistan control.  Carbon Fiber is also stronger keeping you and your board safer and lightweight to shred across the water.

♦  Strength: Carbon fiber is stronger than fiberglass, with a tensile strength of up to 500 ksi (kilopound per square inch) compared to fiberglass’s 300 ksi. This makes carbon fiber ideal for applications where strength is critical, such as in high performance boats, aircraft and racing cars.

♦  Stiffness: Carbon fiber is also stiffer than fiberglass, making it ideal for applications where rigidity is important to keep you slicing through the water.
